Red Team

The Spring 2016 Design / Build Senior Capstone Project took place Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Bishop-Favrao Hall. The Spring 2016 capstone project scope included a full services Design Build proposal for a Class A Office Building Core and Shell suitable for leasing office space to upscale clients such as lawyers, accounting firms, stock brokers, etc. The facility should be approximately 105,000 s.f. and should include fully operational Public space, Elevator Lobbies and warm, lighted shell for future tenants. The design and construction should allow for: Flexibility of Use and Occupancy, Efficiency, Durability, and Economic Viability. Additionally, the building must achieve a minimum LEED Certification of LEED Silver and sustainability should be factored into choices of materials, products and systems.

Bidding teams were evaluated by members of the Myers-Lawson School of Construction's Industry Affiliates Board during a public session. Faculty, industry member and other students attended the session. Evaluators were asked to rate how close to industry standard each team performed on the technical content of their proposal and the delivery of their presentation. The Red Team took first place and team members included Matthew Barr, Patricia Clarke, Joe Jajonie, Sean Gibbons, Andrew Long, Karina Rivera, and Tim Whittles. The Green Team took second place and team members included Will Bates, Nathan Cooper, Nathen Foote, Katherine Greene, Jeremy Jones, Billy Maddox, Tyler Robey, and William Vician. The Maroon Team took third place and team members included Jeremy Brenner, Austin Fitzgerald, Tom Hart, Daniel Laub, Emily Olinsky, Bradley Smith and John Reynolds. Professor Yauger noted that all teams performed to the highest quality and scoring was extremely close with 0.4 points separating first from third place.
