Lu Zhang
Dr. Lu Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Building Construction and the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Construction Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She received a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Tongji University, China.
Dr. Lu Zhang’s research interests include smart buildings and cities, disaster resilient built environments, human-built environment interactions, cyber human systems, data analytics, building and civil information modeling, and semantic information modeling. Her research in these areas is supported by research grants from various agencies, including National Science Foundation, Florida Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Transportation, Engineering Information Foundation, and Natural Hazards Center.
