Renée Ryan is Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Administration in the Department of Building Construction. In this position, she administers the recruitment, retention, and curricular initiatives of students within the department. She additionally supports the department through teaching (such as First Year Experience and Building Effective Construction Teams) and curricular design including organizing and conducting educational modules for non-technical skills, teamwork, public speaking, leadership, writing, and critical thinking related to construction management. 

Renée holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing and Literature from Hollins University and an undergraduate degree in Education. She also holds a Class A Contractor's license for the state of Virginia. She has been involved in all levels of education from kindergarten to university. She is passionate about lifelong learning, diversity, and student development.
