The Fall 2016 Design / Build Senior Capstone Project took place Thursday, December 8th in Bishop-Favrao Hall. This year's design build project was an Ambulatory Care Center and Medical Office Building to accommodate one or several medical tenants involved in an ambulatory care practice and/or medical offices. The building also included specific accommodations for an X-Ray and Imaging Center including an MRI, CT Scan and Ultrasound, a Minor Emergency Clinic and a Pharmacy. The 120,000 s.f. facility included a fully operational Public space, Elevator Lobbies and warm, lighted shell for future tenants. The owner sough a minimum Certification of LEED Silver but proposals also included additional sustainability options in choices of materials, products, and systems.
The Aqua Team took first place and team members include Ben Carpenter, Sam Garrison, Matthew Knight, Mark Polen, Kevin Sheppard, and Brian Williams. The Red Team and Yellow Team were runners-up. Red Team members include Philip Agee, Taylor Bowden, Andrew Carroll, Mitchell Hintz, Zahra Hosseinabadi, and Timothy Kelly. Yellow team members include John Berger, Robert Hechtm Matthew Hourigan, Jacob Lescault, John Newmarker, and Pallvi Sharma. As always, the voting was extremely close and all teams performed well.
